Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson in the United States is seeking a talented structural engineer for its Marine and Waterfront Structures practice. You will design, analyze, inspect, rehabilitate, and support construction of ports, wharves, piers, and marine terminals along the East Coast.

Ideal candidate has a PE license, ABET-accredited civil/structural degree, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with RAM Elements, RISA 3D, STAAD, SAP2000, LPILE, DeepEX, or similar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working on port, marine, or waterfront structure projects.
• Experience with design, inspection, rehabilitation, or construction support of marine infrastructure.
• Knowledge of applicable structural design codes and standards.
• Experience developing engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Work within multidisciplinary project teams to support marine and waterfront infrastructure deliveries.
• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and evaluations for new construction, rehabilitation, and repair of marine structures.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, construction documents, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Assist with the design of port-related infrastructure including piers, wharves, bulkheads, mooring structures, fender systems, foundations, and marine terminals.
• Coordinate with structural, geotechnical, coastal, environmental, and construction disciplines to support project development.
• Participate in site visits, condition assessments, inspections, and construction observations at active port facilities.
