Senior Marine Outboard Mechanic (Maintenance)

The role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various boats, with a focus on diesel systems. Candidates should have experience with diagnostic equipment, boat engines, hulls, propellers, navigational and electrical systems, sanitation, refrigeration, and accessories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all types
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to test and repair engines, hulls, propellers, and navigational equipment
  • Install and test sanitation, refrigeration, electrical, steering systems, and accessories
  • Troubleshoot and repair vessel systems and components
  • Conduct assessments, source parts, and manage repairs within budget and timeframes
  • Maintain knowledge of marine electrical, plumbing, and water systems
  • Assign parts and purchases appropriately
  • Possess own tools and be available for overtime as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
  • Follow safety and environmental policies and complete training
  • Wear appropriate PPE
  • Report accidents, injuries, spills, and near misses immediately
Technical and Physical Requirements
  • Certifications in Mercruiser, Mercury, Yamaha are a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
  • 5+ years of experience preferred
  • ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, lift 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and handle boats
  • Experience with gas and diesel engines preferred
