Qualifications

Job description

Our expanding yacht maintenance facility in South Florida is currently looking for a skilled Senior Marine Hydraulics Technician to join our team.

This position requires a seasoned professional capable of managing the installation, commissioning, repair, and troubleshooting of sophisticated marine hydraulic equipment on various vessels. You will act as a primary technical authority, handling complex diagnostics, interpreting technical diagrams, and maintaining professional relationships with vessel captains and owners while working with a high degree of autonomy.

Core Duties
  • Identify, resolve, and perform maintenance on hydraulic machinery found on marine vessels.
  • Ensure system reliability by installing and servicing pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses, and manifolds.
  • Utilize technical drawings and hydraulic schematics to guide repair processes.
  • Determine the root cause of system malfunctions to implement effective long‑term fixes.
  • Conduct pressure testing, leak identification, and system commissioning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Restore functionality by replacing seals, fittings, hoses, and valves as needed.
  • Resolve issues with critical vessel systems including thrusters, steering, stabilizers, davits, and passerelles.
  • Foster positive relationships by coordinating directly with shipyard staff, vendors, owners, and engineers.
  • Deliver expert technical guidance and clear repair advice to our clientele.
  • Help maintain a safe and efficient working environment by completing projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Mentor junior staff members to improve the team's collective problem‑solving capabilities.
