Job summary

Fincantieri Marine Systems North America, Inc. seeks an Electrical Manager in Chesapeake, VA to lead overhaul, installation, maintenance and testing of marine propulsion and power generation systems.

You will provide technical direction to engineers, technicians, and field personnel and ensure compliance with regulatory standards for defense and commercial customers. The role requires leading 2–6 staff, strong Navy/ISO knowledge, and the ability to manage safety and quality across shop and field

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8 years of experience involving marine electrical systems or electrical engineering, including 3 years in a leadership role required.
• ERP or project tracking systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical operations by coordinating electrical testing, calibration, troubleshooting of propulsion control and automation systems, monitoring, and auxiliary systems while supervising electrical personnel.
• Interface directly with customers, OEMs, and internal engineering teams to resolve electrical and automation issues; provide technical guidance, and develop labor estimates for proposals and quotes.
• Develop and maintain electrical SOPs, test documentation and supporting project documents, ensuring compliance with U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, OEM, MIL-SPEC, NAVSEA, and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Support engine overhauls and new installations by overseeing electrical wiring, sensors, control panels, system integration, and configuration control, maintaining calibration records and electrical QA documentation in accordance with FMS’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
