Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database operations and optimization.
• Hands-on expertise with MariaDB technologies.
• Proven track record of improving performance and scalability in complex database environments.
• Experience with Java, Python, Go, Rust, or other relevant languages.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for database/data workloads.
• Strong technical leadership with 3+ years in leading optimization projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts in optimizing MariaDB for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Analyze and resolve operational challenges for mission-critical systems.
• Guide teams in designing and maintaining performant data pipelines.
• Collaborate with software engineers and data architects to improve system infrastructure through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting MariaDB.
• Define and implement best practices for data systems including backup, recovery and high availability.
• Lead cross-team discussions on operations and architectural refinements for database and data warehouse systems.
• Contribute to lifecycle of systems from design to deployment and optimization.
• Mentor team members to deepen understanding of database and Lakehouse optimization techniques.
