Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH in the United States seeks a Senior Tissue Culture Technician to support Marek’s disease vaccine production. You will work under SOPs, maintain sterile conditions and contribute to manufacturing records.

The role requires independent work, strong attention to safety, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to perform weekend overtime; training will be provided to master procedures.

Qualifications

• Two-plus (2+) years of Marek's lab experience, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in biology or science related field.
• Ability to work independently as needed.
• A well-rounded knowledge of Marek's Production or Biological processes.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and carry it a distance of 10 ft.
• Must be able to squat, bend, and stoop, as well as twisting and turning.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity are important.
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time and work in a sterile production environment.
• Must be flexible with availability (able to work overtime as needed on short notice).
• This position requires weekend work. Regular attendance is a must.

Responsibilities

• Perform production processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Utilize sterile technique at all times and work under laminar flow hoods and HEPA filtered environments.
• Maintain accurate and timely manufacturing records and paperwork.
• Accurately measure liquid volume, convert units of measure, and perform moderately complex calculations.
• Assist in receiving roller bottles in labs and in holding area.
• Promote safety and awareness in the lab and follow safety practices.
• Work with mentor in training to master procedures.
