Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH is seeking a Technician II for a 10-hour shift (6:45am–5:15pm) in the vaccine active ingredient area. The role focuses on preparing vaccine components in an aseptic environment, following defined procedures and USDA regulations, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

You will support training, document review, and continuous improvement efforts while upholding EHS standards and collaborating with team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Biology Degree or related field; 1+ year lab or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Clean room and aseptic technique knowledge.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Working knowledge of cGMP and USDA vaccine manufacturing requirements.
• Basic math skills and equipment/automation troubleshooting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and database software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vaccine components in an aseptic clean room using virus, bacterial, and cell culture techniques per USDA regulations.
• Ensure SOP compliance; assist with training and coaching of staff.
• Review in-process documentation for accuracy and timeliness; maintain technical data and support documentation.
• Participate in root cause analyses and implement corrective actions; escalate production flow disturbances.
• Demonstrate commitment to EHS programs and initiatives.
• Assess performance for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support site projects including deviation and change control management.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing the activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment utilizing virus/bacterial and cell culture techniques according to USDA regulations
• Ensure compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures during execution of processes. Assist with training and coaching of current and new employees on required skills
• Review in process documentation for accuracy and compliance in a timely manner; maintenance of technical data and support documentation
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions to address problems; escalation of production flow disturbances
• Demonstrate a visible and tangible commitment to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs and initiatives
• Assessment of individual performance in regards to the continuous improvement (AAI)
• Participate and provide support to site projects and initiatives (including deviation and change control management)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Biology Degree or related field, one year or more (1+) of laboratory experience and/or manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Clean room and aseptic technique knowledge.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Working knowledge of cGMP and USDA requirements for Vaccine Manufacturing.
• Basic math skills, equipment/automation trouble shooting skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other database software systems.
