Job summary

Base is seeking a Test Engineer to deploy, sustain, and improve automated manufacturing test systems for battery backup production. You will ensure world-class product quality and contribute to overall project success in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

You’ll drive uptime improvements for test equipment, collaborate across functions, analyze field data, and support equipment troubleshooting from development to ramp.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electrical test systems design.
• Exposure to a wide variety of test and automation systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, data acquisition, safety, and I/O devices.
• Hands-on experience designing and building end-of-line and functional test systems.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Ability to read and understand software code (TestStand, LabVIEW, Python, Golang, C, C++).
• Experience with CAN bus communications and ability to interpret traces.
• Basic proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
• Effective at summarizing data for diverse audiences.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead uptime improvements on manufacturing test equipment, including HW reliability and FPY.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test equipment meets expectations.
• Perform data analysis and VOC discussions to address challenges post deployment.
• Serve as a system-level contact for design teams and site operations.
• Build, validate, and deploy test equipment to production lines and contract manufacturers.
• Provide ongoing troubleshooting support for testers after deployment.
• Support equipment troubleshooting during development and ramp-up.
