Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer for Pneumatic Mechanisms & Fluid Assemblies to own test development and validation across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

You will lead cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient, reliable production testing for Terran R components. You will drive test equipment design and process improvements, mentor shop floor personnel, and help scale testing as the factory evolving to meet launch timelines

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years building and testing hardware in manufacturing environment.
• Experience authoring test procedures for mechanical, electrical and pneumatic assemblies.
• Experience partnering with design engineering, manufacturing and production teams to execute tests and investigate failures.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing large‑scope test systems and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own the development, validation, and refinement of test assets and processes across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Drive the technical execution of mechanisms and integrated assembly testing through design integration, test equipment/tooling design or sourcing, test sequencing, mBOM development, work order creation, test training, and specification authoring.
• Provide technical leadership in workcenter development, offering guidance on assembly and test operations, safety compliance, tooling, capital equipment.
• Provide hands‑on support to the shop floor and production personnel, addressing test issues and feeding upstream feedback to improve manufacturability, testability or reparability.
• Analyze test data to evaluate assembly performance, identify discrepancies, and lead cross‑functional root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration with design, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing test processes.
