Job summary

Relativity Space is building Terran R and a modern manufacturing approach in Long Beach, CA. We seek a hands-on engineer to own test assets across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, driving efficient, scalable production testing campaigns and ensuring safety and quality.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and production teams to execute tests, analyze results, and lead root-cause investigations, shaping the future of our rocket hardware and factory processes.

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering or related discipline with 5+ years in hardware build/test in manufacturing.
• Experience authoring test procedures for mechanical, electrical and pneumatic assemblies.
• Experience partnering with design, manufacturing and production teams to execute test procedures and investigate failures.
• Experience designing and managing large-scale test systems and process improvements with minimal oversight.
• Knowledge of safety standards and common test hazards and mitigations.
• Hands-on experience in at least two of: electromechanical/pneumatic assembly, electrical/pneumatic functional checkouts, integrated testing, leak checking, sensor checkouts, high-voltage systems, high-pressure pneumatic systems, instrumentation and sensor setup.

Responsibilities

• Own development, validation, and refinement of test assets and processes across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Drive the technical execution of mechanisms and integrated assembly testing including tooling design, test sequencing, and specification authoring.
• Provide technical leadership in workcenter development, safety compliance, tooling, and capital equipment alignment.
• Support shop floor and production personnel, address test issues, and provide upstream feedback for manufacturability and testability.
• Analyze test data to evaluate assembly performance, identify discrepancies, and lead root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with design, production, supply chain, and quality to ensure seamless manufacturing test processes.
