Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Technician in Austin, TX to build, repair and test multimillion-dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment, following work orders and schematics.

This role requires 2–4 years semiconductors or displays experience, an Associate’s degree, and strong problem-solving skills. You’ll work with minimal supervision and contribute to process improvements while documenting progress and performing software installs as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• 2–4 years semiconductor or display experience, or equivalent military/industry experience.
• Related technical trainings and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, repair and test equipment using work orders, schematics, parts lists and instructions.
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Receive parts and perform audits to ensure availability; inspect parts for defects; troubleshoot and improve processes.
• Use test fixtures, measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to test assemblies, subassemblies and components.
• Complete required documentation and may perform software installs or repairs as needed.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and mentor junior colleagues.
