Job summary

Applied Materials in Austin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to build, repair, and test multimillion‑dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment in a cleanroom environment. You will perform electro‑mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs, using test fixtures and measurement equipment, while documenting progress and parts usage.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 1–2 years of semiconductor or display experience, plus ability to follow SOPs and basic hand tool

Qualifications

• A high school diploma is required.
• 1–2 years of semiconductor or display experience, or comparable industry or military experience.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Use work orders and schematics to build, repair or test equipment (electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic).
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs under moderate supervision.
• Receive parts, inspect for defects, debug and improve processes.
• Test assemblies with fixtures and measurement equipment; document progress and labor details.
• Complete data entry, and install software as needed to improve processes.
