Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Project Manager with distribution operations experience to lead process optimization in a fast-paced Parts Distribution Center environment. You will partner with warehouse operations, engineering, IT, and leadership to remove bottlenecks, apply Lean/Six Sigma, and explore AI-enabled solutions while traveling up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
• 5 years of experience leading operational optimization or continuous improvement projects.
• Warehouse leadership experience or direct warehouse operations experience.
• Strong experience within distribution center, warehouse, or supply chain operations environments.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience analyzing operational data and translating findings into actionable process improvements.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional optimization projects focused on warehouse operations, material flow, labor productivity, inventory movement, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with operations leadership and frontline teams to identify process bottlenecks and pain points.
• Analyze current-state workflows and develop data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and IE methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve performance.
• Support warehouse layout optimization, slotting strategies, and labor balancing initiatives.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and business cases for improvements.
• Coordinate with IT, engineering, and stakeholders to execute initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs and ROI to ensure benefits are achieved.
• Facilitate change management activities and support adoption of new processes.
• Conduct operational studies on throughput, staffing, and standardization.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
