Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking an Engineer III/Lead Engineer for Project Farma in Upper Providence, PA. The role focuses on manufacturing and technical operations, providing technical leadership and coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver complex programs.

This senior contributor will mentor junior engineers, support technology transfer from development to GMP manufacturing, and ensure regulatory compliance across initiatives. Travel to meet client project requests is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 2–7 years of engineering or operations experience in pharmaceutical/regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing processes (biologics, small molecule, or both).
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of cGMP regulations (FDA 21 CFR Parts 210/211, ICH guidelines, EMA requirements).
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support end‑to‑end program management for complex technical operations initiatives (new product introductions, technology transfers, process validations, facility fit assessments).
• Develop integrated program plans, critical path analyses, risk registers, and resource plans; identify risks and issues.
• Contribute to stage‑gate processes and governance deliverables, ensuring milestones are met on time and within scope.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional workstreams across Manufacturing, Process Development, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
• Translate scientific and process requirements into executable operational plans; develop staff awareness of CPPs and CQAs.
• Support technology transfer from development into GMP manufacturing, including documentation and readiness reviews.
• Facilitate resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues during operations, startup or shutdown of manufacturing equipment.
• Develop manufacturing batch records, SOPs or validation protocols as required.
• Perform operational readiness assessments covering equipment, facility, materials, training, quality and compliance.
• Support communication with senior leadership and external collaborators; align with project goals.
• Drive alignment across stakeholders; facilitate trade‑off discussions.
• Develop and deploy program management frameworks, tools, and best practices.
• Coach and develop engineers to deliver high‑quality work.
