Job summary

SHR Talent is partnering with a Nashville client to hire a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. The role focuses on leading manufacturing process improvements, Lean CI, and production optimization on the plant floor in a fast-growing environment.

The selected candidate will develop and implement Lean strategies, SOPs, and automation initiatives, collaborating with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering leadership to drive reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and CI initiatives.
• Proven ability to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
• Hands-on engineering with production teams on the plant floor.
• Strong knowledge of SPC, FMEA, CAPA and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering and process improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, production workflows, equipment layouts, and SOPs.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives using Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and RCA.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, process inefficiencies, equipment limitations, and quality issues through hands-on troubleshooting and data-driven problem-solving.
• Analyze manufacturing processes, cycle times, labor utilization, material flow, and equipment performance to identify opportunities for productivity improvements.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering leadership to develop and implement practical solutions.
• Lead process optimization, waste reduction, cost savings, and operational efficiency projects across manufacturing operations.
• Design and improve tooling, fixtures, jigs, workstations, and production equipment to enhance efficiency, safety, and product consistency.
• Support the selection, installation, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing equipment and automation technologies.
• Partner with leadership on CAPEX projects and facility improvements for long-term modernization.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including SOPs, process flow diagrams, and engineering specs.
• Conduct RCA, FMEA, and corrective actions to address recurring issues.
