A leading company in aerospace manufacturing seeks a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to enhance production and quality standards at their Sylmar, CA facility. This role is pivotal in implementing data-driven improvements and utilizing advanced engineering techniques to shape the future of aerospace.
As a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will help guide excellence in our manufacturing processes, using your expertise to improve production, ensure quality standards, and contribute to our mission of shaping the future of aerospace. You will work onsite in our Sylmar, CA. facility and you will report to the Coatings Process Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for measuring, documenting, and improving current manufacturing process capabilities
Perform complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products, processes, or techniques, and may assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment
Continuous improvement; use data-driven approach to implement improvements in the manufacturing areas for process stabilization, repeatability, control, efficiencies of labor, and time and cost reduction in scrap and rework
Create process flow maps, support manufacturing operators with tools and equipment, with all necessary documentation
Manage technical documents, Bills of Operation/Bills of Material (BOO/BOM), process specifications, and oversee production process changes and procedures
Participate in MRB; daily review of product non-conformities and disposition accordingly
Meet and support division goals for all internal and external customers
Create and lead changes using project management approach and techniques
Maintaining or defining quality management standard including creating and reviewing SPC charts for robust quality control
Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, FMEA, and value stream mapping
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM or related field
8 + years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering equivalent
Lean Six Sigma
Proficiency in vacuum and organic coatings, laser ablation and photolithography
Knowledge of CNC, Automation, and Robotics is desirable
Microsoft Project and SolidWorks experience preferred
US Person
Active DOD secret clearance or the ability to obtain one

Salary Range $95,000-$125,000
