Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for AWS Manufacturing in Bellevue, WA to own factory layout and material flow design across AWS rack fulfillment sites. You will collaborate with capacity planning, automation, construction, and operations to scale manufacturing infrastructure globally.

You will drive continuous improvement, publish standards, manage phased layouts, and partner with cross-functional teams to meet throughput and SLA targets across a global site network.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
• Preferred: 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects.

Responsibilities

• Translate rack fulfillment capacity plans into data-driven facility layouts for AWS manufacturing operations, designing end-to-end material flow from dock receipt through assembly and dispatch across EC2, Machine Learning, and Storage platforms.
• Design factory floor layouts including automation line stations, manual assembly zones, test positions, sub-assembly areas, burn-in and repair workflows with optimal buffer sizing and material handling system specs.
• Develop and maintain industrial simulation models to identify bottlenecks, validate throughput, optimize material flow paths, and establish performance metrics like takt time adherence and buffer occupancy.
• Coordinate utility and infrastructure requirements (power, cooling, network) for each production zone with facilities and construction teams.
• Manage phased layout plans aligned with construction milestones; own layout change control and produce clear visual documentation across the global network.
• Drive continuous improvement by owning the factory layout as a living document and partnering with various teams to reduce cycle time and improve throughput toward SLA targets.
• Excellent communicator capable of conveying complex information to executives and cross-functional teams.
• Evangelize automation throughout the organization.
• Multitask on several concurrent projects of moderate to high complexity.
