Job summary

Millerbernd Manufacturing, a family-owned company since 1933, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Methods Specialist onsite in Winsted, MN. You’ll bridge Engineering and Operations, ensuring MOM accuracy and ERP data integrity to driveOperational efficiency in the Transportation & Infrastructure Division.

Responsibilities include BOM/routing management, Epicor part data updates, ECO reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years engineering/manufacturing experience; drafting/ME knowledge preferred.
  • Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and routings; Epicor ERP experience is preferred.
  • Cadlink or similar CAD-to-manufacturing part definition tools experience.
  • Able to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and shop practices.
  • Attention to detail with focus on data integrity and quality.
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and ERP/production planning applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making within defined procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product drawings to manufacturing routings.
  • Manage BOMs and routings.
  • Create & Maintain Epicor T&I Division Part Data.
  • Execute Epicor Part Engineering Changes & Notices.
  • Support process improvement as SME.
  • Analyze drawings to determine manufacturing methodologies; use CAD Link for new parts.
  • Build and manage complex BOM hierarchies reflecting sub-assemblies and materials.
  • Ensure ERP reflects accurate materials and sub-assemblies to prevent delays.
  • Gatekeeper for new EPICOR part creation; populate critical fields.
  • Enforce naming rules and standardized descriptions for searchability.
  • Data auditing and QA of the material master database.
  • Review ECOs and update BOMs/Routings to prevent outdated versions.
  • Cross-functional liaison as part method SME.

The Opportunity

The Senior Manufacturing Methods Specialist acts as the vital bridge between Engineering and Operations. This role ensures the integrity of ERP part data and settings by interpreting complex part design specifications and Manufacturing Process Engineer inputs. By building accurate Methods of Manufacturing (MOM), this position guarantees that production systems reflect intended processes, directly driving operational accuracy and efficiency for the Transportation & Infrastructure Division.

(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.

Incentive Bonus Structure

Freight Train Profit Sharing - Average of +$3.50/hour based on meeting goals

Key Roles and Responsibilities as a Senior Manufacturing Methods Specialist
  • Execute Order Workflow Processing, translate product drawings to manufacturing routings
  • Manage Bills of Material (BOM) and routings
  • Create & Maintain Epicor T&I Division Part Data
  • Execute Epicor Part Engineering Changes & Notices
  • Support process improvement as Subject Matter Expert
  • Analyze complex product drawings, technical specifications, and design requirements to determine and apply manufacturing methodologies per ME/business guidelines. Use CAD Link to create new parts
  • Build and manage complex (parent-child) BOM hierarchies to accurately reflect how sub-assemblies and raw materials feed into the final finished good
  • Ensure all raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies are accurately listed and updated within the ERP system to prevent production delays
  • Function as the primary gatekeeper for new EPICOR part creation, ensuring all critical fields (descriptions, weights, dimensions, and other codes) are populated correctly upon entry
  • Enforce naming rules and standardized descriptions to ensure parts are easily searchable and identifiable across all departments
  • Data Auditing & Quality Assurance: Perform regular audits of the material master database to proactively find and correct missing information, formatting errors, or incorrect categorizations
  • Function as the "technical librarian" by reviewing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and updating BOMs/Routings in real-time to prevent the production of outdated versions
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Cross-functional business partner in supporting part data integrity. Functions as part method help chain, project, and process improvement SME
Role Qualifications as a Senior Manufacturing Methods Specialist
  • Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, Mfg. planning, and/or drafting
    • Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered
  • Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and routings; Epicor ERP experience is preferred
  • Experience with Cadlink or similar CAD-to-manufacturing part definition tools is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Working knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and shop practices; able to translate drawings into buildable routings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and quality
  • Comfortable utilizing computers; particularly working with spreadsheets, email, and ERP/production planning applications
  • Ability to solve practical problems, apply standards, and make sound decisions within defined procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate and influence cross-functional partners
