Job summary

ABB Optical Group is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Maintenance Technician for a Monday–Friday 5:30am–2pm shift in Erlanger, KY. The role focuses on preventive maintenance of machines and equipment across Lab operations, with opportunities to train in-house or off-site as needed.

The candidate will perform basic troubleshooting, calibrate equipment, and handle routine and emergency maintenance under limited supervision, while maintaining documentation and safety compliance. Travel is possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six (6) months of optical manufacturing experience or prior equipment maintenance experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:30am–2pm.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management about technical details, questions, and ideas.
• Notify Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner of observed or reported machine and / or technical problems.
• Understand the workflow concept of the entire Lab operations.
• Operate most equipment without supervision to include but not limited to air compressors, blockers, polishers, generators, engravers, non-dip backside coaters and Microsoft windows-based computers.
• Calibrate and put into operation above listed equipment without supervision upon completion of training.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and simple repairs without supervision on all above listed equipment and other equipment and devices as needed upon completion of training.
• Perform routine, scheduled and emergency maintenance under limited supervision on all above listed equipment and other equipment and devices as needed upon completion of training.
• Understand and use technical documentation such as parts lists, maintenance guides and exploded drawings.
• Follow approved safety instructions, practices, and procedures.
• Maintain lines of communication with Supervisor and / or Manager using valid email address and current phone number.
• Ability to work extended / overtime hours as business needs dictate.
• Other duties as assigned
