Job summary

Responsibilities include preventive/predictive maintenance, electrical work, building upkeep, and using CMMS/BMS to manage work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of related industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience with troubleshooting across multiple trades.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance and CMMS.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of LOTO, safety procedures, and FOD prevention.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient with computers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Perform electrical work, including circuit tracing, conduit, electrical grid work, and line changes as directed.
• Support pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance, including minor construction repairs.
• Use CMMS and Building Management Systems (BMS) to manage work orders and support equipment and facility reliability.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Follow Saab safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and FOD Prevention procedures.
• Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and other teams to support maintenance needs and minimize downtime.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed based on customer and production requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description: At Saab in West Lafayette, Indiana, you’ll have the opportunity to join a team manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Red Hawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force. Our advanced manufacturing facility combines innovative manufacturing technologies with research and development to support Saab’s growing product portfolio. As Saab continues to expand its West Lafayette operations, we are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician to provide expert-level maintenance support across a variety of manufacturing and facility systems. This role requires a strong multi-trade background, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to independently troubleshoot, maintain, and improve equipment and facility systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Compensation

Base hourly rate up to $33/hour The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of related industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience with the ability to troubleshoot and work across multiple trades.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance and CMMS.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of LOTO, safety procedures, and FOD prevention.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification or formal training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems.
• Experience with BMS, PLCs, hydraulic systems, compressed air, plumbing, or building maintenance.
• Experience in an aerospace or advanced manufacturing environment.

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
