Job summary

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment, process, and test-related issues to minimize downtime
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain manufacturing equipment and fixtures
• Support line setup, process validation, and work instruction development
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce defects
• Follow and support SOPs and work instructions, and assist with documentation updates
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Test, and Production teams and train operators on new processes

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports the setup, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production processes for Compal’s U.S. server manufacturing operations. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineers and production teams to ensure equipment, tooling, and processes are operating efficiently to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

This position is critical to supporting new product introduction (NPI), production ramp, and high-volume manufacturing in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Support & Troubleshooting

• Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting equipment, process, and test-related issues
• Assist in resolving production line stoppages and minimizing downtime
• Work closely with operators and engineers to ensure smooth production flow

2. Equipment & Tooling Support

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain manufacturing equipment and fixtures
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on tools and equipment
• Support installation and qualification of new equipment

3. NPI & Process Implementation

• Support line setup, process validation, and work instruction development
• Help transition products from NPI to mass production

4. Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce defects, and optimize workflows
• Collect and analyze basic production data

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Follow and support standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
• Assist with documentation updates and process changes
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Test, and Production teams
• Communicate issues, risks, and improvements clearly and effectively
• Support training of operators on new processes and equipment

Qualifications
