Job summary

Waters Corporation in New Castle, DE seeks a Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to lead a team responsible for developing, improving and delivering high-quality manufacturing systems. The role focuses on cost reduction, process optimization, and NPI readiness, with emphasis on safety and ISO9001 compliance.

You will mentor engineers, partner with cross-functional teams, and oversee budgets and capital equipment to support operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering or equivalent; 10+ years in electromechanical manufacturing with 5+ years in leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with digital literacy.
• Budgeting, planning, and communication skills; adaptable to customer needs.
• Proven leadership, collaboration, and change management experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes: mechanical/electrical assembly, testing, inspection.
• Experience building teams, oversight, and KPI development.
• Experience with SAP/ERP preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in New Castle, DE.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers, fostering accountability, productivity and safety.
• Oversee development and optimization of manufacturing processes including assembly, testing, tools, and failure analysis while ensuring ISO9001 compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement through design for manufacturing, visual standard work, cost-reduction, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety, Quality policies and procedures.
• Lead cross-departmental initiatives with finance, operations, supply chain to improve efficiency and financial recovery.
• Support New Product Introduction activities for internal manufacturing readiness.
• Evaluate engineering requests, determine feasibility, make/buy status, and priorities.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets; oversee capital equipment acquisition.
• Lead research on quality and production efficiency improvements and implement Six Sigma/Lean/TPM.
• Mentor and coach engineers to collaborate with design, quality, maintenance, and production teams.
