Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on design-for-manufacturing, process development, and adoption of advanced manufacturing methods across the DAPS architecture.

You will set priorities, mentor engineers, oversee process specs and root-cause investigations to ensure high-quality production, and partner with design, materials, quality, and production teams to drive production readiness.

Qualifications

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within manufacturing engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role with aerospace/defense exposure.
• Proficiency in CAD (Siemens NX, AutoCAD) and GD&T understanding.
• Experience with MES, PLM, and ERP systems.
• Hands-on advanced manufacturing techniques including additive manufacturing, robotics, and automation.
• Proven track record leading complex projects from concept through production with high-performance materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of manufacturing engineers driving DFM, process development, and advanced manufacturing methods.
• Oversee manufacturing requirements, process specifications, and root cause investigations.
• Set team priorities, track projects, and mentor engineers toward milestones.
• Develop approaches to manufacturing process qualification, production scalability, and automation.
• Implement strategies in machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, bonding, coatings, and joining.
• Identify and deploy new manufacturing technologies to improve quality, reduce cost, and increase throughput.
• Collaborate with design, materials, quality, and production teams to influence hardware design and production readiness.
