Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer in Colorado to lead strategic initiatives that improve production efficiency and quality. You will design and optimize manufacturing processes, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with R&D to ensure manufacturability of new space products.

The role requires extensive experience with advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and predictive maintenance, along with strong leadership and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 yrs experience).
• Typically 8+ years of related experience.
• Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
• Expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage strategic initiatives to enhance production efficiency, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure high productivity and product quality.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers by providing technical guidance and support.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products and their seamless integration into production.
• Leverage expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 concepts to drive innovation and process improvements.
• Oversee maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose complex equipment issues and provide effective solutions to maintain optimal performance.
• Lead and coordinate the tasking of manufacturing or maintenance teams to achieve project goals.
• Implement predictive maintenance techniques such as condition monitoring and vibration analysis to enhance equipment reliability.
• Manage projects involving budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
