Job summary

Formlabs in Somerville, MA is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to help scale our production lines and refine assembly processes for high‑volume runs.

You will work cross‑functionally with mechanical, electrical, and materials teams, collaborating with overseas contract manufacturers to improve output while ensuring design changes are adopted efficiently. This role requires hands‑on problem solving and data‑driven decisions to shape our manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience working with overseas contract manufacturers or suppliers.
• Proactive problem solver with a track record of on-time delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing manufacturing lines to scale with volumes.
• Establish inline or intermediate checks to catch failures earlier.
• Design and analyze production lines; build a process and put metrics around it, and improve on them.
• Work with contract manufacturers who create our custom parts and work with them to improve their output.
• Communicate with design engineers to ensure design changes are adopted.
