Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Canoga Park, CA. The role focuses on mechanical component manufacture, assembly and integration for rocket engines and power systems.

You will design layouts, plan operations, and specify procedures; lead projects; mentor others; and coordinate with customers and vendors as needed. A Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience is required, with graduate degrees advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of related experience.
• Graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 10 years of related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team environment and embrace continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan layout component fabrication, assembly and material handling.
• Plan sequence of operations and specification procedures.
• Support multiple components across AR programs; potential for greater responsibility.
• Provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees; manage complex projects.
• Communicate with customers and vendors as needed regarding policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement manufacturing hardware processes using CAD tools and MS Office.
• Develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes and systems.
• Determine tooling requirements for milling, turning and welding operations.
