Job summary

Axiom Path in Columbus, IN is seeking a manufacturing engineer to lead end-to-end process development for assigned projects from planning through implementation and launch, partnering with operations, product engineering, suppliers, and business leadership.

This role emphasizes VPI/NPI launches, robotics, tooling, GD&T, and continuous-improvement in a hands-on, fully onsite environment with rotating shifts. You will drive process capability, safety, and quality across manufacturing activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Fanuc HandlingTool or Fanuc ArcTool.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret drawings.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing launches (VPI, NPI, ramp-up).
  • Strong continuous-improvement and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, ergonomics, standardized work principles.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, suppliers, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development for assigned projects from planning through implementation and launch.
  • Support VPI and production-launch activities while ensuring manufacturing readiness, process capability, safety, and quality.
  • Develop, optimize, and standardize manufacturing methods, equipment configurations, tooling, and work processes.
  • Apply advanced manufacturing principles to improve equipment performance, productivity, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Utilize Fanuc HandlingTool and/or ArcTool within robotic manufacturing environments.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to ensure manufacturing processes meet product specifications.
  • Lead structured problem-solving and continuous-improvement initiatives focused on quality, waste reduction, throughput, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate internal teams, technical resources, equipment providers, and external partners to deliver projects successfully.
  • Provide technical leadership, share manufacturing expertise, and help strengthen engineering capability across the organization.

  • Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)
  • Work model: Fully onsite in Columbus, Indiana
  • 12-month assignment with potential extension based on business needs
  • Opportunity to take technical ownership of manufacturing process development and launch activities
  • Significant exposure to robotics, tooling, equipment optimization, VPI launch support, and cross-functional manufacturing initiatives
  • Rotating shift structure:
  • First 6 months: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Second 6 months: Monday–Friday, approximately 3:00 PM–12:00 AM, with some flexibility around the evening schedule

Do You Bring Proven Success In Advanced Manufacturing Engineering And Robotic Process Development?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Fanuc HandlingTool or Fanuc ArcTool is required.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and demonstrated ability to interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience developing or improving manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, or automation systems.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing launches, preferably including VPI, NPI, production ramp-up, or similar launch environments.
  • Strong continuous-improvement and structured problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety, ergonomics, process documentation, and standardized work principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decisions and provide technical leadership.
  • Must be able to work fully onsite and accommodate both the required daytime and evening shift periods.
