Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer V in Pontiac, IL to optimize layouts and processes across maintenance, production, and related operations. The role combines hands-on process engineering with data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration to boost efficiency, quality, and productivity.

The candidate will develop and interpret engineering drawings, drive process improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a factory setting with a team of engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required for core role.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with CAD and technical drawings is essential.
• FMEA and MSA knowledge is highly desired.
• Strong problem solving and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Study time, motion, methods, and speed to set production rates and improve efficiency.
• Review logs and sheets to verify adherence to QA specs.
• Approve work assignments considering performance and schedules.
• Analyze data to optimize workflow, layouts, and material handling.
• Develop and maintain process flow documentation and control plans.
• Lead MSA and FMEA activities to mitigate process risks.
• Support PCNs and statistical studies to evaluate process capability.
• Provide mentoring and technical support to team members.
