Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) in Maine is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes for safe, efficient production. You will apply expertise in methods and tooling to solve complex problems, design layouts, and lead project steps while supporting teammates.

Responsibilities include planning workflows, selecting equipment, and communicating schedules.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience.
Engineering degree required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
