Job summary

Emerald Technologies in Brea, CA seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead readiness reviews, optimize PCBA production, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-growing contract manufacturing environment. The role requires 7–10 years in PCBA/electromechanical manufacturing, strong IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 knowledge, and hands-on Lean/6S experience.

CAD tools and MES systems proficiency (Aegis preferred) is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field) preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in PCBA, cable assembly, or electromechanical manufacturing; required.
• Experience in contract manufacturing, preferably supporting military/aerospace customers.
• Strong knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 standards; required.
• Hands‑on experience with Lean, 6S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and MES systems (Aegis preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and lead cross‑functional technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing readiness reviews and communicate build strategies to cross‑functional teams.
• Review customer drawings and documentation for manufacturability and compliance.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, work instructions, tooling requirements, and process documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput.
• Analyze quality issues, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Specify, evaluate, and justify equipment, fixtures, and special processes for production.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, test engineering, and production teams.
