Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Surgical Vision team in Jacksonville, FL. The role leads complex manufacturing projects, drives process improvements, and ensures quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across manufacturing activities.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in engineering, Lean/GMP principles, and project leadership within medical devices or pharmaceuticals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline and typically at least four years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 2 years, or a recent PhD).
• Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, R&D, or process development within medical devices or pharmaceuticals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead moderately to highly complex projects while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, technical difficulty, and business needs are met.
• Own investigations and technical problem solving for recurring, multi-functional, or higher-risk manufacturing issues.
• Develop project charters, plans, financial estimates, technical justifications, and capital requests and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Develop and implement robust characterization, design-of-experiments, qualification, and validation strategies.
• Serve as process or equipment SME during audits, reviews, transfers, and technical decisions.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and provide technical direction to project teams without formal supervisory authority.
