Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. in Alameda, CA seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to provide leadership in engineering, design and development of new products or changes to existing products, processes and equipment.

You will oversee neurovascular device manufacturing, develop and troubleshoot equipment, and lead multidisciplinary teams on complex projects on site in Alameda. The role emphasizes independent task execution, collaboration with R&D and production, adherence to GMP/QMS, and training staff in new

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; 4+ years of engineering level experience, preferably in medical devices.
• GMP/Quality System Regulations knowledge and clean room practices are desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering and scientific principles; high proficiency with computers and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop new processes for medical devices and components.
• Execute tasks independently with vetted solutions.
• Create drawings for Production and R&D.
• Lead projects as Project Leader within multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical support within a multidisciplinary team.
• Document manufacturing and production development processes in lab notebooks, protocols and reports.
• Identify and work with vendors for development of processes and products.
• Train engineers, technicians, and assemblers in new processes and methods.
• Adhere to QMS and regulatory requirements; ensure others follow them.
