Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing/Development Engineering professional in Alameda, CA to support production as a cross-functional team member.

You will solve complex problems, perform root-cause analyses, and lead supplier-level project implementations while developing process documentation and equipment qualifications. The role requires a mechanical/biomedical/electrical/chemical/materials/industrial engineering background with 2+ years of relevant experience and knowledge of FDA regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering or related degree with 2+ years relevant engineering experience
• Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment recommended; medical device industry preferred
• Experience with Electronic devices and/or PCBAs
• Experience with Contract Manufactured Electromechanical Medical device products
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; leadership skills desired
• Knowledge of FDA regulations, Lean/Flow Manufacturing, and/or materials and manufacturing processes desired
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other computer applications required

Responsibilities

• Solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions.
• Execute detailed root cause analysis and recommend vetted solutions.
• Communicate and explain problems and solutions cross-functionally and interdepartmentally.
• Collaborate with suppliers and ensure timely communication of updates.
• Engage in troubleshooting of electromechanical products using failure analysis and problem-solving techniques.
• Lead project implementations at the supplier level with test plans and milestones.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for projects.
• Develop specifications of a product, process, or equipment; validate processes and write reports.
