Job summary

Navitas Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Sr Manufacturing Engineer to optimize high-volume Li-ion battery production on the Ann Arbor line. You will lead process improvement, data analysis, and cross-functional projects to boost throughput, quality and safety.

The role requires a Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering degree, 5+ years in production, Six Sigma Green Belt, and on-site work in Ann Arbor, MI. Proficiency in SPC, Python/SQL, and data-visualization is essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5+ years in a production environment; experience with high-speed, high-volume automated manufacturing equipment (Li-ion cell assembly, packaging, formation).
• Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred.
• Must be able to work on-site in Ann Arbor, MI; US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

• Oversee KPIs to monitor efficiency and quality of Li-ion battery manufacturing.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen initiatives focusing on battery manufacturing challenges.
• Lead root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop PFMEA, work Instructions, OCAPs, and Control Plans for new processes.
• Lead complex engineering projects from concept to implementation with cost, quality, and timeline focus.
• Analyze production data using JMP/Minitab to improve uptime, OEE, cycle time, and defect reduction.
• Utilize Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) for decision making.
• Collaborate with Production, Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, Safety & R&D, and Supply Chain.
