Navitas Systems LLC is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer to improve, optimize, and solve complex problems on our Li-ion battery manufacturing line in Ann Arbor, MI. The role requires lean manufacturing expertise, Six Sigma problem solving, and data-driven decision making to support growth and product development.

The candidate will lead root cause analyses, develop process documentation, and drive continuous improvement across production, engineering, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of production environment experience with high speed, high volume manufacturing equipment.
• Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred.
• On-site work five days a week in Ann Arbor, MI; US Citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Oversee KPI collection to monitor efficiency and quality of Li-ion battery manufacturing.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) for battery manufacturing.
• Lead root cause analysis for production issues related to battery cell quality, capacity degradation, and safety.
• Develop PFMEA, Work Instructions, Control Plans and other process documentation.
• Manage engineering projects from concept to implementation with cost, quality, and timeline alignment.
• Analyze production data using JMP, Minitab, or similar tools to improve uptime and throughput.
• Collaborate with Production, Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, Safety, R&D, and Supply Chain.
