Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer Level 3 for our Aeronautics Systems PE&O team on-site in Iuka, MS. This role focuses on manufacturing technique optimization, tool design reviews, process sequencing, and implementing corrective actions for non-conforming products.

The position requires a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a related field with extensive manufacturing experience, plus an active DOD Secret clearance. On-site only; overtime and shift differential may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of related engineering experience OR Master’s Degree and 3 years of related engineering experience OR PhD and 0 years of exp.
• Current Active DOD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5.5 years.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Special Access Program within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts to ensure the best manufacturing technique is being used to meet the Engineering design.
• Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during assembly.
• Define sequence of operations for product builds.
• Investigate and initiate corrective actions and improvements that involve non-conforming product.
• Identify improvement opportunities in areas that require producibility and affordability initiatives.
