Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Germantown, MD to support manufacturing operations for radar and legacy avionics products. The role blends hands-on engineering with Lean and Industrial Engineering to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Five years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace/defense or similarly regulated environments.
Experience reading engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs; GD&T knowledge.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD; ERP knowledge; ability to develop production routers and work instructions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for new and existing products (assembly, test, integration).
Create and maintain manufacturing plans, routings, standard work, and process documentation.
Support production with troubleshooting, NCR disposition, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Planning to ensure readiness and continuous improvement.
