Precision Castparts in San Leandro, CA, seeks a skilled tooling professional to design, program, and build dies and production tooling in line with quality standards. The role focuses on balancing time and cost to approach final dimensional needs with minimal rework.

You will lead tooling projects, supervise shop floor tasks, train staff, and collaborate with design and engineering to ensure cost analysis, tooling efficiency, and on-time delivery.

Qualificações

• Experience with injection molding.
• Experience with MasterCAM.
• Proficient at CNC programming; able to fully program and operate a CNC.
• Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
• Ability to use complex measuring devices and fixtures.
• Experience with toolmaking is a nice to have, but is not necessary.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate leadership to improve productivity and reduce scrap and rework while maintaining production schedule.
• Train incoming personnel and cooperate with management.
• Instruct others in plant safety rules and policies.
• Design, program, and build dies at all levels of complexity (wax dies, ceramic core dies, fixtures).
• Quote design and manufacturing cost of new tools and reworks.
• Supervise and troubleshoot in-house tooling projects and communicate with design/engineering.
• Maintain efficiency standards and cost analysis for profitability.
• Run department efficiently with minimal outside assistance.
• Evaluate outside toolmakers and cost-charging systems.
• Explain and compute efficiency systems in the area/department.
• Plan, organize, and supervise large tooling programs and communicate with vendors.
