Job summary

FM Industries in Livermore, CA seeks an Engineer, Manufacturing 3 to develop lean manufacturing processes, support cross-functional teams, and drive cost and cycle-time improvements. You will visit customer sites and guide technical solutions while aligning with policy and strategy changes.

The role requires strong communication across all levels, with hands-on problem solving and experience in electromechanical assembly in cleanroom environments.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Materials.
• 7+ years of experience in precision manufacturing.
• Effective communication across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, CAD software.
• Experience documenting processes for electromechanical assembly in a cleanroom.
• Knowledge of complex machining processes and equipment.
• Experience with welding, brazing, anodizing, and precision cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Develop product configurations and methods utilizing company ERP systems.
• Interpret and validate manufacturing processes and documentation to specs.
• Lead design reviews to ensure manufacturability and customer compliance.
• Communicate requirements with vendors and customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements and cost/cycle-time reductions.
• Conceptualize and create fixtures to support manufacturing using 3D CAD.
• Create assembly and test procedures for complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Process engineering change orders and lead implementation.
• Track and update cycle times in ERP system.
• Provide technical guidance across departments.
• Conform to ISO procedures and FMI protocols.
