Job summary

Helion, a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the production process for in-house capacitors.

This onsite role reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at our Everett office and involves collaborating with Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Test Operations to impact the commissioning timeline for Helion's first power plant.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical work experience in production systems.
• Hands-on experience in rate-based manufacturing.
• Experience communicating with and influencing partners across organizational lines.
• Experience in cradle-to-grave ownership of complex engineering or production scopes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement rate-based assembly processes with support from Production and Engineering.
• Own and manage interdisciplinary projects to increase rate and throughput of capacitor line (e.g., floor layout, tooling, build cells, large-scale equipment).
• Help develop new business processes such as non-conformance management, process control, process safety, and asset maintenance to support production scale-up and enable sustained rate-based manufacturing.
• Gather data (labor hours, cycle times, fallout) to identify production bottlenecks, and propose and deploy solutions (design changes, process changes, equipment, automation).
• Identify high return-on-investment capabilities, including capital equipment and software capabilities that improve manufacturing processes, partnering with Production, Finance, Operations, and Facilities teams.
• Collaborate on development of future processes in parallel with supporting and enabling higher output on current production line.
