Job summary

Sila, a next-generation battery materials company, is seeking a Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering to ensure reliable operation and optimization of production equipment. You will troubleshoot issues, implement practical design improvements, and maintain accurate, compliant engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in chemical processing, manufacturing, or equipment engineering.
• Experience with pumps, motors, blowers, valves; familiarity with furnaces is a plus.
• CAD software for mechanical design, drafting, and drawing review.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical equipment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• PSM familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on mechanical engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve daily production issues.
• Create and revise CAD models, fabrication drawings, and fixtures to support operations.
• Refine equipment health checks, maintenance procedures, and lubrication plans.
• Ensure design documents comply with codes, standards, and Sila specs.
• Coordinate with external fabrication and repair vendors.
• Apply operational data to implement condition-based monitoring.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for upgrades.
• Document solutions and support operations and maintenance teams.
