Job summary

Sila, a next-generation battery materials company, seeks a Director of Cell Equipment and Manufacturing Engineering in Alameda, CA. Lead the technical organization responsible for equipment specification, vendor selection, bring-up, and line optimization across cell production facilities.

Heading the team, you will author tight specifications, run global tenders with machine builders, manage FAT/SAT, and lead hands-on line commissioning in dry rooms and cleanrooms, bridging technical teams to

Qualifications

10+ years in equipment engineering or automated industrial machinery bring-up with 5+ years leading technical teams.
Direct experience specifying and bringing up core cell manufacturing machinery.
Proven track record in vendor selection, FAT/SAT, and global RFQs.

Responsibilities

Define standard equipment requirements, line architecture, safety protocols, and layouts for electrode, cell assembly, formation, aging, and testing.
Direct RFQs and vendor evaluations with global OEMs across NA, Europe, and Asia.
Own end-to-end equipment commissioning including FAT, installation, SAT, and bring-up.
Lead process engineering and line optimization to drive throughput, yield, OEE, and SPC.
