Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics Development

Location: New Bremen, OH, US, 45869

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage initiatives to vertically integrate a variety of electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards, wire harnesses and electronic modules.
  • Provide functional directive and manufacturing expertise to the local plants within the own production area (electronics/wire harnesses) in implementing advanced manufacturing methodologies, processes and technologies that significantly improve the overall manufacture of the company’s products and the competitiveness of the business.
  • Lead improvements to operations through manufacturing engineering analysis based on capacity, cost reduction, efficiency and/or safety.
  • Manage projects involving cross-functional departments including product introduction, strategic manufacturing development, process area expansions and major rearrangements (in the field of electronics).
  • Work with various functional areas across the company including related central departments, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Quality, and numerous plants to provide support.
  • Responsible for new equipment introduction including procurement, coordination of installation, process capability prove-out, training, process documentation, and production start-up.
  • Create and pursue a vision for safe, efficient and reliable future-state conditions within electronic manufacturing processes.
  • Lead, mentor, coach, teach, and develop Manufacturing Engineers/Process Techs.
  • Represent manufacturing within the Product Development Process (PDP).
  • Maintain confidentiality as directed.
  • This position may report to a Senior Level Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, AME Manager, or other Departmental Manager.

Qualifications:

  • 8-15 years related experience.
  • Associate Degree (Non-degree considered if 8+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED).
  • Must have valid driving privileges.
  • Some overnight stays (10%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years’ experience in electrical assembly.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree (Electronic, Engineering, Operations Management or related subjects).
  • Broad understanding of industrial type processes and equipment that supports different electronic areas (e.g., electronic assemblies, wire harnesses, PCBs and electronic modules).
  • Knowledge of Problem-Solving Techniques, Lean Tools, and Six Sigma Principles.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with a commonsense approach.
  • Understanding of relevant laws, regulations and norms.
  • Ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization which include peers, middle and executive management.
  • Ability to influence others on initiatives that advance technology, processes, and product.
  • Strategic, innovative, economical and growth mindset.
  • Action and Result-orientation.
  • Acts economically.
