Job summary

Advastar, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer in Illinois to design and optimize manufacturing processes across fabrication, coating, and assembly.

You will lead capital projects from justification through implementation. Ideal candidates have 6+ years designing equipment, tooling, fixtures and strong 3D CAD skills, plus hands-on CNC, punch press, fiber laser, robotics and PLC experience, with Lean/Six Sigma knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, with 6+ years of design experience.
• Hands-on design of manufacturing equipment, tooling and fixtures; extensive 3D CAD experience.
• Experience with CNC equipment, punch presses, fiber lasers, robotics and PLCs; knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DOE, facility layout.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize manufacturing processes and equipment across fabrication, coating, and assembly.
• Lead capital projects from justification through implementation.
• Troubleshoot production equipment and improve cost and performance.
• Standardize procedures, train teams, and use data to close performance gaps.
