Job summary

Xcimer Energy in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own the health of the capacitor-line manufacturing processes. You will drive process improvements, maintain living process documentation, and ensure release of quality, repeatable work on a data-driven basis.

The role emphasizes reducing scrap, improving yield, and cross-functional collaboration with maintenance and quality to sustain safe, efficient production on the line today and as it scales toward rate.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience supporting active production.
• Proven track record of measurable process improvement on a running line.
• Experience writing and enforcing work instructions and operating within change control.
• Fluency in structured problem solving and root cause corrective action.
• Working knowledge of SPC, process capability, and data analysis.
• Experience in electronics, capacitor, high-voltage, or precision manufacturing.
• Proficiency with MES/ERP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Own the process execution for released manufacturing processes on the capacitor line.
• Author and maintain work plans, setup sheets, and stage inspections.
• Convert tribal knowledge into documented, repeatable standard work.
• Maintain the process documentation set as a living system.
• Define and maintain process capability baselines and controls.
• Own production yield and first-pass yield on mature processes.
• Lead RCCA on process-driven escapes and failures to closure.
• Investigate electrical acceptance test failures (HiPot) and collaborate with Quality on NCRs.
• Apply statistical process control and data analysis to reduce variation.
• Contribute to PFMEAs and close actions they generate.
• Audit the floor against standard work and fix gaps accordingly.
• Drive day-to-day process improvements to raise yield and reduce cycle time.
• Lead lean initiatives focused on flow, waste reduction, and setup time.
