SUMMARY:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. They recommend and execute improvements to production processes, methods, and controls, and coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products. The engineer is expected to leverage their experience to mentor others, assist in plant decision-making, and perform tasks independently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate manufacturing processes through research and application of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, consulting with equipment vendors and operators.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes by studying requirements, researching, testing, and modifying methods and equipment.
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflows, space, and equipment layout.
- Ensure product and process quality via testing methods, capability assessments, and standard setting.
- Provide decision-making data by analyzing costs, reviewing schedules, and estimating future needs.
- Compile reports by analyzing data and trends.
- Support manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance.
- Comply with regulations to maintain product and company reputation.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs, following manufacturer instructions.
- Guide and train technicians on design and development projects.
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
- Mentor others as a subject matter expert.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct supervision; potential project management roles.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or 6-8 years related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software (MiniTab/JMP).
- Skills in DOE design, technical writing, data analysis, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and technical knowledge.
