Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for blades and vanes investment casting. You will lead commissioning, FAT/SAT, and supplier management for advanced casting equipment, and drive process ownership after commissioning.

You will work across Materials, Design, Quality, Facilities, Controls, Production, Maintenance/Reliability, and EHS, mentoring junior engineers and technicians while ensuring safety and high reliability in high-temperature casting operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of equipment, manufacturing, or process engineering, including hands-on installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and supplier management.
• Experience in cores-through-cast processes or related high-temperature/precision manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, FAT, SAT, supplier management, and customization of pre-cast equipment such as VIM furnaces and shell/ceramic tooling.
• Coordinate power, water, waste, controls, network, connectivity, and MES facilities and services.
• After commissioning, assume process ownership of cores-through-cast operations and drive cost, rate, yield, and quality.
• Design and implement tools, fixtures, process aids, and equipment to hit rate and quality targets.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process specs, PFMEAs, control plans, and change-control docs.
• Own EHS and process safety for high-temperature, vacuum, pressure, and chemical operations.
• Troubleshoot floor issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement robust corrections.
• Collaborate with Materials, Design, Quality, Facilities, Controls, Production, Maintenance/Reliability, and EHS teams.
