Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Blades and Vanes, to own equipment installation, commissioning, and process development for the blades and vanes investment casting line, from ceramic cores through wax, shell, and cast. The role starts with commissioning and transitions to process ownership, driving cost, rate, yield, and quality.

You will lead FAT/SAT, coordinate supplier-defined facilities, and own MES integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• 1+ years of equipment, manufacturing, or process engineering experience.
• Experience in investment casting or related high-temperature/precision process.
• Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving.
• Hands-on maintenance, reliability, or equipment-sustainment experience.
• Aerospace/energy or high-reliability casting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, FAT, SAT, supplier management, and customization of pre-cast equipment (VIM, ceramic/wax injection, shell lines, and thermal systems).
• Coordinate facilities and services: power, water, waste, controls, network, and MES.
• After commissioning, own process ownership to hit cost, rate, yield, and quality targets.
• Design and implement tools, fixtures, and process aids to hit performance goals.
• Develop work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, and change-control documentation.
• Own EHS and process safety for high-temperature, vacuum, pressure, and chemical operations.
• Troubleshoot issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement robust corrections.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Lead technical projects and provide technical guidance and team cohesion.
