Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I - Assembly & Integration in California to improve production processes, establish manufacturable designs, and lead factory setup and optimization. You will troubleshoot production issues, collaborate with design and engineering teams, and drive efficient ramp-up with clear ownership of production lines.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of technical manufacturing, production, or process engineering experience.
• Hands-on problem solving in complex manufacturing systems.
• Ability to drive multiple complex assignments autonomously.
• Ability to coach and mentor across teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility studies and manufacturing technology R&D projects.
• Partner with Design Engineering to ensure DFx for manufacturability at scale.
• Engineer and deliver factories: design, procure, install, validate assembly, test and verification processes.
• Support development builds to uncover early learnings and accelerate ramp-up.
• Own production lines to remove blockers, improve yield, and increase build efficiency.
• Triage and diagnose failures and perform root cause analysis with risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
• Drive process improvements across manufacturing, test and integration.
• Contribute to change management and assess risk/impact of changes.
• Support business system and process improvements to increase efficiency.
