Job summary

Waabi is seeking a manufacturing quality/tech lead to drive APQP, PPAP, and NPI readiness for high-tech hardware in a hybrid Pittsburgh setting. You will own PPAP deliverables, lead 8D RCCA, and collaborate with CM/Tier 1 suppliers to ensure robust manufacturing processes.

You will validate design-for-manufacture feedback, oversee metrology and Gage R&R, and guide test development, process verification, and continuous improvement across production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• NPI & CM Oversight Experience launching automotive or high-tech hardware at Tier 1 or CM.
• Technical ownership of the launch cycle from prototype to production-validated line.
• Advanced APQP & PPAP Management with Control Plans, Process Flows, and Gage R&R.

Responsibilities

• Drive APQP Program Management at CM/Tier 1 sites to ensure SOP and PPAP deliverables.
• Provide DFM & DFA feedback to ensure manufacturability with CM tooling and equipment.
• Validate sub-tier PPAPs and integration into CM assembly process.
• Oversee mechanical assembly, test, and integration of sensors and actuators.
• Define EOL testers and calibration routines to confirm digital health of hardware.
• Lead PPAP deliverables (PFMEAs, Process Flow, Control Plans, Work Instructions).
• Ensure GD&T and tolerances are met via MSA and Gage R&R.
• Conduct Run-at-Rate PV testing to prove line quality at full speed.
• Lead RCCA using 8D methodology to resolve assembly failures.
• Coordinate metrology and inspection fixtures qualification via Gage R&R.
